Kingston’s Best-Kept Secret? Our First Visit to Musiikki
Last week, Jenn and I decided to switch up our usual Kingston night-out routine and finally check out Musiikki Café & Whisky Bar — and honestly, we’re so glad we did. It was both of our first times there, and it instantly felt like one of those places you can’t believe you hadn’t discovered sooner.
Musiikki is a small, cozy café-bar tucked right in the heart of downtown Kingston. The second we stepped in, we were hit with this warm, welcoming vibe — dim lighting, rustic wood, and the kind of ambience that just makes you want to stay for hours.
During the warmer months, they open up their back patio, complete with a beautiful magnolia tree that performers play under. We went in the winter, so we missed the patio this time, but even without it, the inside felt like its own little escape from the cold.
The Drinks (and the People)
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Sophia and Jeremy, who immediately made us feel at home. They were so friendly and helpful — and super patient with us filming bits of the space, and even an interview for our blog.
The London Smog & Margarita
Their menu has a mix of classics and creative originals that the team comes up with themselves. We tried the London Smog, a hot alcoholic twist on a London Fog, and a classic Margarita. Both were incredible — the London Smog especially hit the spot on a cold Kingston night.
They also mentioned that a new winter menu is on the way, so we’re definitely going back to try that out.
The Vibe: Chill, Social, and Kinda Addictive
One of our favorite things about Musiikki is how community-driven it feels. Everyone there seemed relaxed, chatting over drinks or playing board games — yep, they have a whole collection you can grab while you hang out.
Jenn and I ended up playing Scrabble (as you can see in the photo below), and it honestly made the night. It’s rare to find a bar where you can sip good drinks, laugh with friends, and still hear the person next to you talk.
Scrabble with drinks!
Final Thoughts
Overall, Musiikki was such a pleasant surprise. The drinks were amazing, the staff were unbelievably kind, and the atmosphere was unmatched. Whether you’re looking for a quiet night with friends, a cute date spot, or just something different from the usual Kingston club scene, Musiikki is 100% worth a visit. They even have live music that’s a little change of pace from normal club bangers, and one where you might even find your new favourite artist.

Until next time,
Chanelle, Sophie, and Jenn :)
